Closing the year 2020, Novaquark set up a two-day "Stream-a-Thon" event featuring regular DU streamers


08/01/21:
Emperor Kytheum steps down after 4 years of reign, citing "an accelerating personal life where Dual Universe has become somewhat of a burden"; he is replaced by Starsz.


22/01/21:
A blunder from developers allows a few lucky and fast buyers to enjoy a potentially substantial reselling margin on the markets; no rollback or monetary correction is issued by Novaquark, resulting in a negative community feedback.


12/02/21:
In order to theorically help their team handle more issues and requests, Novaquark end all Support from the official Discord and the ingame Help channel, and restrict it to tickets only; this move, seen as an anti-consumer cost-cutting measure, triggers various negative reactions.


10/03/21:
After months of infiltration, Captain Devian, leader of Blackbriar Mercenaries, defects from Empire with many stolen resources and several fleet members, putting Starz's organization in a difficult position.




17/03/21:
Novaquark deploy the 0.24 version of Dual Universe, introducing Org Wallets, new textures, new landscape features, new voxel tools, the Package function and Challenges; the main announced feature of the update, the Mission System, is however postponed for troubleshooting.


29/03/21:
Feli's Blockade, installed on 19/03 by the Ascendancy and supported by the ORUS Federation, is concluded, scoring a sizeable number of "trespassers" wrecks and winning 3 fleet fights, including a surprise counter-attack from Penrose and Empire.

Elias Villd's widely broadcasted and quickly resolved shipjacking by the Anarchy organization, including a unique copy of his prototype AR UI, inspire accusations of blatant favoritism within the community.

Community unexpectedly learn that Jean-Christophe Baillie has stepped down as CEO in favor of Nicolas Granatino from Andurance Ventures, one of NQ's key investors; worried speculation ravage the playerbase as well as the media for several days until a reassuring but generic message from Community Management finally sheds a little more light on the change.

Over the course of 3 days, Novaquark publish their multi-part "Future of DU" devblog, detailing their new "post-J.C." vision for the game's development, future updates and announced features, hinting at a substantial change in NQ's communication and work management.
